6 Day Machu Picchu Trail Running Adventure
Tour Details
Day 1: Arrival in Cusco, City Tour, and Sacsayhuaman
Meals: Not Included Upon arrival in Cusco, you'll be transferred to your hotel, where our staff will provide brief and informative details about your activities. Around 11:00 AM, we'll begin our running excursion from the hotel to Sacsayhuaman, located at an altitude of 3,700 meters above sea level. It's approximately 2.5 kilometers. Sacsayhuaman showcases some of the finest examples of Inca masonry and construction, including meticulously cut stones forming impressive walls. After exploring Sacsayhuaman, we'll ascend the hill to the Qenqo Archaeological Complex, an Inca labyrinth featuring a ritualistic altar. We'll then run to Cusco's main square, where you can relax and enjoy your afternoon.

Day 2: Humantay Lake Trek/Run
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner We depart Cusco at 5 AM and head to Soraypampa, where our arrieros (muleteers) await. After breakfast prepared by our chefs, we'll begin our journey to Humantay Lake. We'll run for about 1 hour, capturing stunning photographs before running for another 1.5 hours to Salkantaypampa, our first campsite. This day's trail covers 7 to 8 kilometers, totaling approximately 2 to 2.5 hours of running.

Day 3: Soraypampa to Paucarcancha
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, and Drinks en route Early morning, after breakfast, your guide will lead you on a run to Paucarcancha, covering 25 kilometers in 4 to 6 hours. We'll pass through Inca canals and ascend the Inca Chiriasca pass at 5,000 meters, enjoying breathtaking mountain views. Descend through lush green valleys and streams to reach the Paucarcancha campsite.

Day 4: Paucarcancha to Aguas Calientes
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, and Drinks en route Enjoy breakfast and explore famous Inca ruins. Run until KM 82 (14km = 2.5 hours), where transportation awaits to transfer you to Ollantaytambo for lunch and an afternoon train to Aguas Calientes. After arriving in Aguas Calientes, rest at your hotel.

Day 5: Aguas Calientes – Cusco, Machu Picchu Visit
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Wake up early for a guided trek to Machu Picchu, exploring its famous archaeological sites. Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and board the train back to Ollantaytambo, then return to Cusco.
