DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CUSCO + CITY TOUR
Upon your arrival to Cusco, we will take you to the hotel and then join your guide for a briefing about the wonderful tour that awaits you. Afterwards, we will go on a tour of Cusco to enjoy the sights of the capital of the Incas and admire the indigenous and colonial heritages.
Afternoon. City Tour with a visit to Cathedral
We will pick you up at 14:00 from your hotel to start the tour and visit the following places:
- The Koricancha: Temple of the Sun.
- Sacsayhuaman: Majestic place with impressive works in stone, some up to 120 tons.
- Q´enqo: Meaning Labyrinth, a religious center dedicated to the adoration of the Earth.
- Puca Pucara: Meaning Reddish Place, that was used as a military control center.
- Tambomachay: Temple of the Water. A center of adoration and worship of water.
In the evening, you will be able to exploring Cusco’s nightlife or sampling some of its many typical restaurants.

DAY 2: FULL DAY SACRED VALLEY TOUR
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00. This is a full day excursion to the Urubamba Valley, visiting the colorful Indian market in Pisac where you will be able to appreciate the mixture of color and tradition and have an opportunity to test your bartering skills, interact with the local craftsmen and purchase their hand-made souvenirs. Pisac is located at the entrance of the Sacred Valley. The Valley is 31 km (19 mi) away from Cusco and at an altitude of 2,970 m (9,700 ft). Followed by Pisac is Urubamba, where we will have a delicious buffet lunch at Tunupa restaurant. Then, we continue through to Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied town on the American continent.
The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with their canals, have not changed much from the time of the Inca Empire. They evoke their ancestral inheritance and give you a feeling of what it would be like to live during this time. The last visit will be the Chinchero market. Chinchero is believed to be the mythical birthplace of the rainbow. Its major claim to tourism is its colorful Sunday market which is much less tourist-orientated than the market at Pisac. In the end, we will drop you back at the Plaza de Armas in Cusco at approximately 18:30.

DAY 3: CUSCO TO AGUAS CALIENTES (MACHU PICCHU TOWN)
We will pick you up at 8:00 (to be confirmed) and take you to the train station. The train leaves at 11:50 (time may change depending on availability and changes to timetable). After a journey of majestic views, you will arrive to Aguas Calientes (Hot Springs Town), where you will spend the night. There will be plenty of time to relax if you want to have a hot bath in the natural springs!
Things to do in Aguas Calientes:
- Visit the Machu Picchu ‘Manuel Chávez Ballón’ museum and orchid exhibition. This is open from 9:00 to 16:30 and is a 35-minute walk down the road from Aguas Calientes to Puente Ruinas. It is a very illustrative museum that gives an interesting introduction to Machu Picchu.
- Thermal baths – 20 soles per person.
We recommend you that you keep your luggage at the storage room of your hotel in Cusco (Casa Andina Standard Cusco Plaza) and bring only the necessary for the visit to Machu Picchu. Casa Andina Standard Cusco Plaza usually store the guests' luggages for free. They also have a safe box for valuable things. You just need to ask for it at the reception / front desk. Train Companies only allow 7 kilos carry-on per person. If you bring more kilos, they will ask you for an additional payment.

DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU IN ITS GLORY - BIG DAY!
Have an early breakfast before our guide picks you up from your hotel at 5:40 to begin the short bus journey to the gates of Machu Picchu where you will watch the sunrise. After entering the Citadel, begins a guided walking tour (approximately 2 hours) of the citadel complex. After this experience, enjoy some free time to explore the mysterious city as you please.
Optional Service: Wayna Picchu – Cost per person: $30
There is time for those with enough energy to climb Wayna (Huayna) Picchu (at your own expense). For many people, climbing Huayna Picchu is one of the highlights when visiting Machu Picchu. Wayna Picchu is the mountain behind Machu Picchu. The climb itself is interesting as you will see how the Inca did to cut out some steps out of the rocks and as you wind around the side of a mountain, you will see Machu Picchu from different angles. Then, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included). Later, we will board the train back to Poroy. Upon your arrival to the train station, we will pick you up and take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
