Of all countries in South-America, why would you visit Ecuador? It’s true that Ecuador isn’t the most popular country, but we will convince you why this is the place to be and why you shouldn’t miss out on it!

Ecuador: the country of 4 worlds

Ecuador is known as the country of 4 worlds. What does it mean? That it has everything to offer in its small country. And no need to travel long distances. These are the 4 worlds:

  1. Our most famous attribute: The Galapagos Islands!

Ecuador is most famous for its Galapagos Islands. This UNESCO world heritage site is one of a kind. It is most popular among tourists for its unique species of animals. On land, you can see Giant Tortoises roaming freely, Blue-Footed Boobies nesting, and Galapagos Fur Seals sunbathing on the beach. However, there is also a completely new world under the sea. You can swim with Hammerhead Sharks, Fur Seals, Penguins and many more species! The Galapagos Islands are blessed with pleasant weather all year round, so you can always visit the unique islands.

  1. The mysterious Amazon jungle

A quarter of Ecuador consists of the Amazon jungle. Most part is inhabited by people. However, Ecuador has been aware of its unique wildlife and ecosystems for a long time and created protected parks to conserve their unique attribute. These parks also preserve several indigenous tribes living in the Amazon jungle. These tribes have their own languages and customs. The Amazon is home to many species such as: Jaguars, Monkeys, Anteaters, Sloths, Pink Dolphins, and many more. The most popular trip is a 4 to 5-day tour to the Cuyabeno Reserve!

  1. The spectacular Andes mountains

The majestic Andes mountains cross through the centre of Ecuador from North to South. The mountain range is known for its spectacular hikes and climbs. The highest mountain in Ecuador is the Chimborazo, reaching up 6,263 m (20,548 ft). However, there is much more to see! The Andes are home to many volcanoes, some of the highest active volcanoes in the world! There are crater lakes, canyons, and many other amazing things to see. Also, many animals can be found, two of them are the Mountain Lion and the national bird: The Condor.

  1. The relaxing coast

Whether you want to spend some time relaxing, engaging in water sports, or enjoy some beach parties, Ecuador has it all! The coast stretches along the entire length of Ecuador. There are several places at the coast, such as Canoa, Puerto Lopez or Salinas which are perfect for having a relaxing and fun day at the beach. There are multiple hotspots to try water sports. For parties, you should head out to Montañita, this is the place to be. Besides, there are also several animals that can be spotted at the coast. It is popular for its sea turtles and coastal birds.
